When you think back on your best clothes shopping experiences, what comes to mind? The most iconic shopping trips we make is usually when we’re buying clothes for a special occasion such as weddings and graduations—and I don’t think it’s about the dresses or the tuxes. I think it’s about the experience and how it differs from your average shopping trip.
Trying on clothes can be such a vulnerable experience, but big chains and department stores seem set on making the experience even worse. From the overhead fluorescent lighting to the tiny rooms, it’s like those dressing rooms were designed specifically to make us feel awful. And there’s a special awfulness to the dressing rooms that only have a mirror in the common part of a busy dressing room, adding the risk of strangers’ looks—or worse, their unsolicited opinions—when you step out. Don’t even get me started on dressing rooms that get placed right next to the racks of clothes, so you have to brave other people if you want to get a friend’s opinion.
But when we go shopping for a special occasion, we often shop in boutiques that make it easy for us to let our guard down and enjoy the moment. Think about the last time you went to a bridal boutique, for example. There’s no hunting for a salesperson to find a key to a glorified closet where you can change; you’re given personalized service by someone who has experience with the shop and what might work for you. Then there’s the joy of shopping with the people you’re closest to in a specialty shop, especially when you’re all looking for the right outfit together. And nothing can beat those experiences where you’re the only ones in the shop, so it’s like your own little world of fun—especially if it’s one of those places that brings you a little bubbly to sip while you’re shopping.
Doesn’t that sound like a better way to shop for clothes?
Good news: You can have that boutique experience at my studio! Yep, you can have a shopping party with the best selection of Amaranth Designs products. Bring a friend or two, your masks, and spend an evening finding the perfect pieces for all of you. I’ll handle location, refreshments, and racks of clothes for you to try.
You get a private appointment in the studio—no strangers here—with lots of comfy space, a safe place to put your purse down, and you never have to worry about what to do with your outside shoes when you’re trying on pants and skirts! You can even bring pieces from home to help create new outfits. It’s a perfect way to have a safe, low-key ladies’ night with your nearest and dearest. It’s like book club without having to read the book!
March is a perfect time to book your shopping party (though they are available all year long), since I’m having a clearance sale to make room for the new collection launching next month! It’s a great way to make sure no one beats you to that “add to cart” button while also having a great time—and getting discounts up to 60% off.
Obviously, spots are limited, so send me a message today to book your spot. Of course, my online shop remains an option, but I’d love to have you in for that boutique experience!

That consistency in sizing is even more important in the age of online shopping. There’s nothing quite as frustrating as spending all that time browsing and then waiting for a piece to arrive, only for it to completely disappoint when you put it on.
