Happy Independent Retailer Month! Thank you so much for following along with what’s happening with Amaranth Designs. It’s amazing to know there are so many people who want to keep up with the latest pieces and get to know the behind-the-scenes details of my shop.
It’s been heartwarming to see many people commit to shopping local and independent since the pandemic hit, and I want you to know I appreciate every click, like, and purchase. Of course, we are seeing things start to return to “normal,” including travel—and once again, the Amaranth Design principles are here to help.
I focus on creating classic and versatile designs that are easy to wear and care for, making them a perfect match for travel for at least three reasons:
1: Classic shapes blend beautifully
Whether you’ve got a little Amaranth Designs in your closet or a lot, each piece has a look that lasts. The classic silhouettes complement the rest of your wardrobe, from the new trendy pieces to timeless standbys.
But classic does not mean boring! We have bold floral prints, rich colours, and touchable textures in the 2021 Spring and Summer Collection (and past collections, of course). 2: Easy to transform day to night, casual to dressy
If you’re a notorious overpacker, the versatility of Amaranth Designs might just save you from yourself. Save space by having a few pieces that work whether you’re going shopping or out for dinner. That leaves room for more accessories to keep the look fresh so no one would even notice that you’ve worn the same dress three times in a week.
I’m no stylist—that’s a completely different job!—but my go-to technique for dressing an outfit down is a jean jacket and some nice sneakers. Swap that out for your favourite dress shoes and fancy jewelry, and you’ve got a whole new look. And hey, if you have to go buy a new necklace to dress up the outfit for your night out, it makes the perfect souvenir from your trip, right?
3: Easy care makes for easy packing
Quality fabric and easy care are top priorities when I am designing. No one likes wrinkles, and while our hotel room might have an iron and an ironing board, who wants to spend their vacation ironing? When you pack Amaranth Designs, you’ll look your best and make the most of your time away.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a folder, a roller, or a vacuum sealer; it’s easy to take my stuff along. No need to waste a carry-on piece with a garment bag (that also requires a lot of trust in your fellow travelers’ ability to load the overhead compartment), when you’ve got well-constructed pieces made with the best fabrics. Make the most of the wheels on your suitcase and leave the garment bag behind!
Added bonus: No need to find a drycleaner if dinner fun makes for a spill on your clothes. Amaranth Designs clothes are easy to wash, even if it’s in a laundromat or your hotel sink!
