Spring is such an odd time of year, especially on the Canadian prairies. In lots of climates, it’s clearly spring by the time we hit the vernal equinox in March—but not around here. It’s like Mother Nature spends months flip flopping on what season it’s supposed to be: a day of warm sunshine here, a dump of snow there. We never quite know what to expect until at least May long weekend…okay, maybe June.
Dealing with that unpredictability means you should have a spring wardrobe that’s versatile and comfortable, and who better to help you with that than Amaranth Designs? Versatility and comfort are kind of my thing, after all. (With a side of easy care, of course. Down with dry clean only!)
My 2022 Spring/Summer collection is here to make the transition to your warm weather wardrobe smoother and more reliable than whatever is happening outside. I want to help you embody the meaning of breezy, so you appear and feel relaxed and “cheerily pleasant.” The collection is a perfect way to do that, from the fit and the colours to the way these pieces can complement what you already own.
You might be surprised to see so much black and navy in a collection for sunny days, but that solid foundation of neutrals helps you build a wardrobe with pieces that work well together and in all kinds of situations. Whether you want to soften it with a kimono, floppy hat and sandals, or go strong in power heels and big accessories, this black jumpsuit can go from holiday breaks to boardrooms and back around to brunch.
If you’re stocked up on neutrals and ready to mix in some colour, this collection helps you add a pop of coral, yellow, and royal blue to welcome the change of season with open arms. This flowy tank can be a pillar of your wardrobe, adding extra interest over dress pants or under a jean jacket. The deep coral can complement other colours or give a neutral look a little oomph.
Of course, as I mentioned in October, adding print and texture to your wardrobe is another great way to add a little excitement. This Breezy collection is here to help! You’ll find lots of polka dots, bringing interest to neutrals and popping up with a mix of hues. You’ll even see echoes of the polka dot in this yellow textured tank. Florals can add a little colour with a base of neutral or be bold and take centre stage.
It was so refreshing to play around with colour, print, neutrals, and textures to bring you this versatile collection that is ideal for spring and summer—while also blending beautifully with your year-round pieces. I hope you’ll find what you’re looking for this season, whether it’s the perfect piece for that upcoming special occasion or the new wardrobe essential that complements the rest of your closet.
As always, you can shop directly from my website, visit Brick + Mortar in Regina, or even book a boutique shopping experience in my studio. I’m excited to welcome spring again with these beautiful breezy options. Mother Nature might not be ready to make up her mind about the season, but I sure am!

That consistency in sizing is even more important in the age of online shopping. There’s nothing quite as frustrating as spending all that time browsing and then waiting for a piece to arrive, only for it to completely disappoint when you put it on.
